When I was last in New Zealand, I attended the Central Hawke’s Bay A&P Show. A&P stands for “agricultural and pastoral”. An A&P show is a country fair and celebrates farming and the agricultural industry. This photo is one of only two I managed to shoot during the sheep shearing competition. The lighting in the tent was dim and that meant having to use a very slow shutter speed while holding the camera as steady as I could. Needless to say, the other photo was quite blurry. Now that I know what to expect, the next time I attend a sheep shearing event, I will bring some fast film and a fast lens.
