Damaged Headstones #2

There are many damaged headstones throughout Union Cemetery. Sandstone was quite often used in Calgary in the early 20th century until they discovered it didn’t stand up to the climate very well. But this is the first (and only) time I have come across a wooden cross. The cross was broken in three pieces with the top of the cross in the ground and the rest of the post lying next to it in two parts. There was no plaque or engraving — nothing at all — to say who is buried there.
