The theme for this self-portrait is what you wore today. This is the least creative of the photos I took during my Self-Portrait Challenge, but it wasn’t the worst. In fact, I rather like these photos. Looking back, I managed to get the focus and lighting right, but I should have covered up the white backdrop that’s lying on the floor. That’s what you get for rushing through the shot and not really thinking it through. I wasn’t originally planning to do a full-length portrait.
If you’re bored with photographing the same things every day and you’re eager for a creative challenge, self-portraiture is a good way to improve your skills. The process of pre-visualizing and planning each shot can really teach you a lot about photography. And it’s fun too. I’ve posted the entire 31-day challenge list in case you want to try it (or even just one).
